Overview
The Pergande Group supports customers in the development and optimization of products and processes in the field of solids and formulation technology. Our Process Technology Center (PTC) offers extensive laboratory and pilot-scale facilities as well as analytical methods for this purpose—from initial feasibility tests through to scale-up to industrial scale.
Our Technologies and Analytical Methods
Pergande offers a wide range of laboratory and pilot-scale facilities for the development and optimization of products and processes.
These include, among others, fluidized-bed technology for granulation, agglomeration, coating, and drying; spray drying; contact drying; Nutsche filtration; dry and wet milling; liquid formulations; crystallization, and thermal treatment in air or an inert gas atmosphere.
The pilot-scale technology is complemented by comprehensive physical and chemical analysis. This includes, among other things, sieving, dynamic image analysis, laser diffraction, HPLC and HPLC-MS, FTIR, XRD, and DSC, as well as moisture, water content, and viscosity measurements.
This allows different process approaches to be examined in a practical context, compared with one another, and specifically refined.
From Concept to Industrial Process
Our development projects follow a clearly structured approach. At the outset, the project scope, product properties, and potential solutions are evaluated in collaboration with the customer.
In the next step, feasibility and suitable process parameters are investigated in the laboratory. Successful approaches can then be scaled up to the pilot scale and further developed under conditions closer to real-world applications.
Based on the process and product data obtained, we prepare for scale-up, technical design, and economic evaluation. This allows us to take material and energy balances, energy requirements, investment budgets, and production costs into account at an early stage.
Successfully developed processes can then either be transferred to existing production facilities at Pergande or further developed through in-house engineering and plant construction for implementation at the customer’s site.

Our particular strength lies in the integration of laboratory, pilot plants, analytics, engineering, equipment and plant construction, as well as our own industrial production.
This allows development projects to be handled within a seamless structure—from the initial idea through testing and scale-up to industrial implementation.
