Nutsche filters are extremely suitable for filtering batches of liquids with a high solid content, particularly when the solids will be undergoing challenging post-processing.

The liquid is separated mechanically from the solid using a permeable layer (filter medium). This is done using either a vacuum that exploits the atmospheric pressure, or with the help of pressure, or a combination of vacuum and pressure.
