On 19th October 2019 the VDI Magdeburger BV signed Dr. med. Sonja Schmicker, Managing Director of METOP GmbH, for her extraordinary commitment to strengthening the link between science and industry with the Gruson Honorary Badge of the VDI.

The award was presented by the chairman of the VDI regional association and managing director of the Pergande Group, Prof. Dr.-Ing Mirko Peglow, by the chairman of the Magdeburg district association of the VDI, Prof. habil. Dr. Ing. Rüdiger Bähr and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Science and Digitalization Dr. Ude.

At this year's 25th anniversary, excellent guests from business, science and politics met for a lively exchange of ideas. The always very pleasant atmosphere has made the festival of technology an outstanding social event for the engineers in Saxony-Anhalt from the beginning. The VDI maintains this unique character and the grown tradition every year since the first event in 1995.
